Yes, this is awful and abhorrent.
But, if you'd actually bothered to read the whole thread you'd see that the 'Pacific Solution' is not available. The policy of the former govt. has been ruled illegal by the High Court.
An appeal to the High Court would be necessary to 'possibly' overturn the ruling or the opposition would have to compromise their position to assist the govt. in circumventing the decision of the High Court by passing new laws to circumvent said decision.
What is abhorrent to me is the lack of intellectual rigour concerning the unworkable redneck solutions to a problem that has occupied far better brains than displayed here on hotcopper.
As recent as today we've had the govt. plead with the opposition to at least have talks about a possible solution. The answer from the opposition is criminal in it's lack of human compassion.
And so, Justlookin, it just may occur to you that this has absolutely nothing to do with the govt. accepting the policy of the former govt.
I certainly admire (not) how your twisted logic, muddled thinking and complete lack of understanding has led you to condemn the current govt. for the deaths of about 200 humans.
And by the way, you didn't vote for any party. What a deadset disgrace. You have no blood on your hands.
