During my 6 years on the Copperbelt (Zambia) and having worked for some 12 MDs, I made the observation that the major difference between those that were successful vis a vis the others was the skill of business acumen. All of the MDs were excellent miners but only a select few possessed the business factor. To compensate nowadays, companies recruit performing CFOs to redress the MD shortfalls and without question, there are many good teams who are very successful.

You can always get cash, the prevailing market conditions merely dictate how much you have to give to cement the transaction. IF Rey does have a number of suitors wanting to partner/JV/etc and the REY assets are sound, then negotating an upfront payment would seem to me to be a better alternative to the seemingly preferred CR strategy of constantly diluting the value of shares.

I have no objections to your view that the REY management are working hard, my question is: 'are they working smart'.
