We are suckers from every angle. Our Coast Guard/Defence gets blamed if they don't risk their lives to save 'victims'. They get blamed for not spotting the boaties before disaster strikes. Survivors blame us for having open borders. Survivors criticised the Gov for 'giving false hope' when they reported an incorrect low death toll, it implied to relatives in Australia that more relatives were alive. Now we are being blamed for not having a repatriation system to return dead bodies.

Not that documents would be guaranteed to stay with a victim in sinking boat scenarios, but how would we identify a body if none of them come here with documents? I think it's a pure academic argument to say we don't send bodies back when we couldn't anyway. Overseas Gov's would just state, "RTS, address unknown"!

That's why I'm fed up with 'asylum seekers.' Everyone is to blame except themselves. Screw them and let's concentrate on asylum seekers and not illegal boaties. It's proven beyond doubt they are economic illegals and it's Indonesia's problem, not ours.
