The Opposition MUST allow laws to pass in the Senate that validates offshore processing. The Government should be permitted to use Nauru as a facility but also have other options.The Malaysia Regional option will be a disincentive to people smuggling and give new hope to those genuine UNCR processed refugees languishing in Malaysia who will be allowed to come to Australia under such arrangements. The UNCR are happy with the arrangement so I dont believe there is an ounce of humanity in the politics being played by Abbott and his supporters on this issue.
Abbott cant be pig headed about this he MUST compromise and allow both options. The government is compromising because it is considering Nauru.
Abbott must stop the MY WAY or No WAY approach. As some of you here have pointed out he isnt the Government but with his support in the Senate the governments hands are tied. In the meantime people die dreadfully by drowning.
Its tragic and all sides of politics including the Greens need to hang their heads in shame. They are a disgrace.
