As I read those announcements, there is no necessary conflict in the numbers for WiFi.

500,000 users by the end of this month, and 700,000 in 2012. They are forecasting two separate targets, as I read things.

I am wondering whether WiFi will in fact come before the end of the year, so perhaps we shall have to wait for what they call "full penetration" in 2012.

Perhaps they are concentrating for now on getting IPTV to show cage fighting to China (yesterday's announcement) and the filming of the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra (announcement 19th December).

It is not reasonable to expect GCN/P1 to jump on its horse and ride off in all directions - even though GCN/P1, to judge by their announcements, seem to think they can.
