Some of the goldbugs may be just starting to realise that what goes up sometimes goes down and many could become poverty-stricken if they're not careful. One poster here some time back gloated that he had sold the house, the car, everything and bought gold.

They think that there's something wrong with anyone who questions their ideology, and that gold is definitely going to Mars, no doubt about it, that gold isn't just another investment vehicle that spikes up every generation or so.

Goldbugs are a sort of cult, and when gold returns to the mean some of them are going to be so unnerved that deprogramming will be required.
