lekki, I think a handover was going to take place at some time given that Woods had been held outside Baghdad and then been returned there. Why, other than to hand him over. Apparently the last video from his captors had included a ransom demand. If it had been responded to positively, the captors may have been preparing to make the exchange. On the other hand if it had been responded to negatively then his captors would have had to reinforce their demand in some way and there is nothing to suggest that they had done that. It appears that Wood was kept in good health and not knocked around as you would expect if the intention had been to kill him. I wonder if he had health problems as serious as reported or even required medication at all, and it was only a ruse to try and locate him. Something planted in the pills?
I am also suspicious that they accidently stumbled upon him given that one of the unit that found him supposedly asked him the secret question about the dogs name.
