IMO the biggest setback to moving upward are the short sellers. They will gamble on doing big dumps with borrowed shares and scaring others into selling and covering their short buying low from the scared sellers. Its bound to happen today. The only way for that to be overcome is for interest in the stock to surpass the shorters risk appetite through the sp continuing to rise when their short selling stops. At the moment they have held the upper hand and kept the sp down.
