The upside for Mt Mulligan is, that it is a plug, that has risen up above the surrounding land. To harvest the gas will be one of the most cost efficient methods in QLD, horizontal drilling and no fraccing. So, if Mt.M has popped up out of the ground, what amount of coal lies in the surrounding area? Is MT M just a one off deposit of roughly 500Mt, or is it part of a much larger basin, that has yet to be drilled and explored. My guess would be that there is definitley more coal in the surrounding area, but I have got no idea how much. The wait for the courts decision has been a long one, lets hope it has been worthwhile for all!
