Good to see a few facts creep into the discussion... took awhile.

I am sure MGO now has much more of understanding about this topic. Both marine and land tailings placement come with risks to the environment. Marine has its pluses and minuses, need the science. Personally marine placement "done correctly", ie. extensively modeled and proved maybe shown alot safer long term. We are not talking about reef ecosystems, but a desert, a very tiny piece of that desert, mineral load similar to the floor, monstrous volumes of dead water above, dilution factors enormous.... but need to see it all modeled.

There is however politics...and peoples informed/uninformed/biased views and feelings.

Which ever solution is best for the environment is the one I would choose. Again MGO/Emery may choose that solution, if not swamped by politics because it really is the lowest cost solution in today's world. I don't have those facts, sorry I can't contribute, DFS will give rational.
