Yes gold is handy on extremely rare occasions and the Iranian situation is one of them where you can smuggle it out of the country, but Reuters report this morning that the Iranians want 'dollars'.

The world is used to Iranian bombast, like North Korea, always threatening but doing nothing except carrying out the occasional terrorist attack, real heroes.

The Iranians have indulged in lots of chest-thumping lately and threatened to attack any US carrier that approaches the Straits of Hormuz. They won't do it because lots of Iranians are gonna be 6ft. under if that happens.
