Its interesting to see people's assumptions and expections based on a specific perspective.

While we all want to see the SP rise on a daily basis and are tuned to market sentiment, like it or not these factors aren't daily considerations for management of public companies. They aren't there to manage the daily share price or time announcement to maximise a trend. They are there to carry out of the business of the company and build value, but generally need to let the market drive the price. Ultimately good outcomes will result in higher prices, ignoring the vagueries of daily movements which are influenced by so many things other than how the company is actually performing.

If good news comes to hand on a bad day the company needs to announce it nonethless rather than play games to time announcements. Likewise they must not try and store up news for good days or worse still spin something just to manipulate positive market conditions.

When SSN has results or progress that the market needs to be aware of they will announce it as per their obligations. Such activities and resulting announcements have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with "keeping pace with other stocks" and to lump expectations on management to make announcements just to try and achieve a short term blip on the SP chart isn't really going to help. If management starts to act as some would have them do then its time to get out. There are too many pidly little companies that have to resort to this type of behaviour and we should be thankful that SSN isn't one of them.
