    hi AuCu

There should not be any debate because the old idea of do not put all your eggs in one basket still holds true.

Also most people are not willing, or do not have the aptitude to spend the time required to study and research the stock marker sufficiently well to make an informed decision.

For the average person in the street property is by far the best choice because they can monitor it within their normal daily activities.

As for being smarter I think the record shows that there have been more people make their fortunes in property than by any other means.

It could be that “intelligent” people are drawn to the cut and thrust of share trading rather than the placid benign world of property

Each person has to make up their own mind as to where their skills and time are best employed with what money they have available.

Being in what is called senior years I am most concerned with retention of capital and quick returns.
If I was 20yo I would take more risks and if I was told of an investment that was going to give a fabulous return in thirty years I would grab it but at my age that type of investment is a waste of time.

Everyone is different and there is no better
