In the 1980s and 1990s i have seen publicans that have drunk over 40 plus schooners ( full strength ) and had meals to boot. An still where under the limit on testing via a breath testing instrument. Which at the time was government gazetted for use in NSW>
some people do build up a tolerance for it but i have noticed over the years their life span is cut down dramatically. Ie dead between the ages of 40 and 60 old.
