Excellent work and I need to study it some more.
I believe like you, some of the more basic indicators can be reinterpreted rather than a need for new ones.
Working with RSI I have developed a liking for 5 period as well as the standard 14 period.
Working with very short periods I changed from Xovers of 55/45 instead of 50. 55 to turn bullish and 45 to turn bearish. I now apply those to longer time frames.
Trend lines on RSI seem even more important that on price.
So my number 1 indicator is a simple moving average and second would be RSI.
