Israel has clearly been used by the USA to set up a military base by the jews.
The Israelites were orignally slaves from Egypt and people that came from an interal uprising of the cannanites. Joshua did not wage war on the cannanites as described in the bible but there is archaeological evidence that the Jericho cannanite palace fell through an interal uprising.
