Yes, in 03 I rang my broker & asked her to add some Aussie
silver stocks to my portfolio & she couldn't find any
apart from Macmin & Malachite-which've since had a grisly fate. She recommended BHP which had Cannington Qld, the biggest silver producer in the world, but si was lumped in with all the other minerals & metals. Then there were the almost crumbling ruins of the Cobar Broken Hill heritage mining towns whch used to mine silver.
It's taken a while for silver to take off, but miners have finally gotten the message- we seem to be where gold miners were 10 years ago after the long gold drought. I do remember the crossing of the $5
silver Rubicon - there was so much excitement &
wondering whether $5 would hold & whether "THEY" would
allow it. Think of the people who actually went out & bought at those "astronomical" prices in 2003 . I believe
some silver is only now available to Oz buyers because
it was obtained from producers at those low prices less than a decade ago.
