The Indigenous population dropped from about 1 million to 0.1 million in the first century after the invasion in 1788, mainly through violence, dispossession, deprivation and introduced disease. Genocide is largely what happened, and if you think sorry is enough to quell tensions and feelings of powerlessness, helplessness towards regaining a rightfully equal place in the australian community, i fear for the plight of all minorities if yours is truly a cross-section of australian beliefs.
For what its worth provocateurism is not a new phenomenon, doing so in such a public way is. This whole stunt is part of a war for your minds, dont let the aboriginal people be the victims of this. what happened was clearly targetted at tony abbott, but equally at the aboriginal people as a method to further disempower.
