Tent Embassy founder Michael Anderson yesterday said Ms Sattler told him on Thursday: "The Prime Minister's office wants to talk to you. I thought she was joking," he said.

"She went around and the word spread around the embassy community pretty quickly.

"Someone set us up. They set the Prime Minister up. They set Abbott up. And they knew that feelings and emotions were running high."

Aboriginal activist Barbara Shaw, who grabbed the microphone and told the crowd that Mr Abbott was at the Lobby restaurant on Thursday, also confirmed she was told by Ms Sattler that Mr Abbott was nearby.
