1. Today's price of Coal : Which way do you think the coal price will go in a couple of years (realistically would it would several years before they are in a position to ship it to a port) with Chinese and now more importantly India on a exponential growth path looking for cheap energy?
2. They may decide not to dig it up, that is what the scoping study is about. There are other "off the shelf" ways of monetising the value in the ground other than mining .. in-fact just across the border in S.Africa they are already using them.. if you research a little.
3. If you've read through most of the reports the most likely way of monetising the coal in Botswana is to provide power to the local market and surrounding countries. So build a power station on site and transmit the power to market.
So best to take a wide view and not a narrow one on the value of a company in my view. Otherwise you may be tricked into thinking a company with a massive resource such as NMR is worthless. Nothing could be further from the truth IMHO.
Again I'll say to newcomers beware of doom and gloom posters with "no stock held" who only appear on weakness, and for that matter, those only posting overly +ive stuff during a rise... Caveat Emptor
