This in The Australian recently, catalyst for a nice spike in price and volume in Kaboko mining - KAB - (formerly Uran), one of our closest neighbours. Expect some interest in our operation in the coming months if they start kicking goals.

"MANY juniors have gone to the delisting graveyard or been re-birthed in some Perth brokerage, so our hearts lifted during the week to see three long-time battlers get bit of wind in their sails.

After a while, commentators tend to give up on juniors that once promised great things and then dragged themselves and their shareholders into the slough of despond.

Then there's Kaboko. You might be more familiar with it as Uran, the uranium hopeful. Kaboko is to make trial manganese shipments to China from its Zambian mine. A result has been a long time coming, which is reflected in the 2c share price.

Kate Hobbs is still at Kaboko. She, along with mining entrepreneur Michael Kiernan, launched Uran (the Russian word for uranium) in 2006 to hunt down projects in the former Soviet Union. The share price took a huge leap later that year when it seemed a Ukraine project was nailed.

But that never got going. Then villagers in the Czech Republic cut up rough about Uran's plans there, which was understandable as the previous Soviet miners had left radioactive dumps behind them, and no amount of explanation about how Australian miners went about it differently could change their minds.

Too often investors become wary when unsuccessful juniors come up with a shiny new story. "Here we go again" is often the anguished cry. However, Kaboko seems to be on the way to making its transition a success. Fingers crossed."
