The sad part about Australia Day now, is that a significant percentage of the population refuses to celebrate it......certainly a greater percentage than I was aware of until the last few years.

A friend of mine tells me that at his workplace, virtually no one celebrates it. They refuse to have BBQ's or anything that might seem to be celebratory.....lol. That's fair dinkum. Surprised me to hear that.

It really is starting to live up to its other names of Ugly Day and Invasion Day.

One can't help but think that the protests on Australia Day will become more and more heavily supported and attended as the years go by.

Eventually it will change to a date more respectful of all citizens. The flag too will change eventually to recognise and embrace multiculturalism and our indigenous people. Just as Australia will one day be a republic.

Just have to wait for the drearys to catch on.....zzzzzzzzz. Oh well, will be worth the wait in some respects.
