Just up so excuse sjl if post is especially poor quality

Two issues here as I see it

*does the perception/reality of danger of health issues associated with radiation from REE, give PEK a marketing advantage. Yes a huge one!

    * is the issue of health risks associated with REEs real.
Dont know every time but probobly often, yes. More expert comment would clear this up, do we have a radiologist in the house? They would give you an unbiased answer staight away.

Over on LYC there was lots of "toughen up princess" tude put out towards the Malaysians on the LYC hold up. Ok sure politics did play a part their, but in fairness the Malaysians only previous experience withh a REE processing plant was, as dontask touched on, the 1970s Mitsi plant which caused one of the worlds major radiation polution issues from its badly run REE facility.

So yes they can stuff up. The fact PEKs REEs only have a fraction of the crap to start with tells me if it happened we would only have a fraction of the stuff up. Thats got to be a good thing, but as always down the track Im sure PEK intends to continue to conduct itself in an envirnomentally responsible manner.

If ingesting U or TH poses a problem one needs to be very careful how dust and soil and waste issues are faced also.

I think radiation in REEs often is a big issue, and has caused a lot of harm especially in China and gives PEK yet one more market advantage.

We have a very unusual deposit in that the grades are very high and the often found radiation levels are very low.

Very unique in the REE world.

When discussing these issues we need to try to put aside wheather we are pro U mining or anti, this has nothing to do with PEKs ultra low radiated ore. There are health issues associated with radiation and there are benchmarks regarding safety. But PEKs REEs are near background level or in some cases lower.

Now wheres that radiologist and we are not paying you $200 per hour either, sorry?! Lol!
