It was very emotive for us when she graduated with honours and received an award as a high achiever. Her form teacher told her in 4th year high she should forget about being a vet as she will never get there.

When she graduated post TEE as runner up dux, I wanted to shove the numerous awards she received as top in biology, Chemistry and Physics (100% in all), with over 90% in maths right in her demeaning face. I won't say what I wanted to do when she graduated from Uni LOL.

    Very proud of her.

What your daughter will find difficult is having to put animals down. My daughter still has trouble with this unless the animal is in serious difficulty that can't be resolved.

She and her husband very often offer to take the animal from owners and breeders especially that insist on putting them down at no cost. They then do what is required at their cost and re-home them. She now does this for all Cavaliers (2 of which she kept for her) that come to her and even takes from other vets that contact her. It has now become a work of love she will maintain for life we can see.

Vets aren't always what they seem behind the seemingly cold professional exterior at times.
