I disagree.

I think it will happen, but only when the ECB is ready. By "ready", I mean when all the losses to the European banks have been measured and provisioned. Greece will be allowed to default when the ECB is certain that it will not cause knock on defaults in the banking system.

They have been preparing for this for two years, and I think that it is a matter of weeks or even days away.

When it happens I think that the risk assets will take off. I am not sure what gold will do, but I suspect that it could take off too.
