Lets see, the Chinese Government is intimately involved with how businesses are run in China and look at the spectacular growth that has occurred there over the last 20 years.
Some of the Chinese Government businesses are the biggest in the world. Other private businesses get solid support like having land, infrastructure and cheap finance provided to them by the Chinese Government i.e. Foxconn.
In fact QANTAS, Telstra, Commonwealth Bank and others were successful when they were Government owned organisations. Business was done to provide for the needs of the customer and also done for the benefit of the country and not just for maximising profit. So to say Government should not get involved with business is wrong.
