It's 40% on NAB Equity Lending also. I don't know for how long.
I am surprised if this is new, as SFR has been a billion dollar stock for a while (hasn't it?)
Anyway, lenders don't look at anything more than market cap, liquidity and some other things. They don't go into the question of whether a stock is "a good bet" etc
Certainly margin lending makes a stock more attractive to punters. It gives them more to punt with.
