Ok. I just got a response from the company: Yes, the prophylaxis approval is needed for stockpile market in Japan. Generally the same is also required the US stockpile market. However, the US government can still stockpile the flu antiviral for emergency use. The current BARDA contract does not cover the prophylaxis studies.
Someone here has mentioned that PC said that BARDA might also help BTA with the prophylaxis studies after the treatment approval.
