Both are "right" from their writer's point of view, the first being a little subjective or more colourful.
The 2nd slug article is the sort of report your broker or Diggers & Dealers might dish up to their readers- "12 o'clock & all's well" sort of thing. I liked the bit about The Don as the great white hunter shooting prey from Darkest Africa to the Gulf of Mexico, to the alarm of ladies present(Shell). But under New Management delusions of grandeur have been cast aside , it's Temperance & Prohibition for the lads now & humble pie at home(Oz).

Well, we'll see. Why can't we have a greater Woodside
bestriding the globe like colossus BHP. It's only a few
years since a frail & sickly BHP was landlord of rusting steelworks in 3 bush towns with a dreadful future and worth far less than KODAK on the New York Stock Exchange.
