re: startling domum Presume you read the article noted by CSO1 on sharescene with the interview last month with Cabots.
Notice they are maintaining the SGW from Woodgina (but can't spell it correctly) but dropping the contract from Greenbushes at the end of this year?
And no, not because they like Egypt-but because they are sitting on an excess stockpile of US$60m plus of the stuff (around 1,500,000 lbs) and can meet forecast requirements from the remaing SGW contract plus their own mine. Not good news in my opinion-for either SGW creditors or GIP.
Then we have the Chinese with around 15% of the market. Their source could be the replacement of the contract Cabots had with Greenbushes, existing Woodgina access or somewhere else. Should be far cheaper for them to be involved with SGW than committing to a new operation? Frankly this may be the Loan Arranger's last hope, and have not seen any suggestion of Chinese involvement with GIP to date.
As to Stark-heavily in the SGW camp.
I've been Gipped!
Cheers,TAS
