Reading everything this thread, it sounds a very similar place to the South Island of New Zealand.
The Greenie influence is never a good look when trying to go forward economically, although isn't Tasmania one of the few states, that could be self sufficient going forward?
Don't know if it's coincidence or not, but haven't both Tassie and the South Island of NZ had the odd gun massacre as well.
