I think the thumbs up/down voting system needs to be changed. The most controversial (and by implication most interesting posts) often end up with a low rating.

I often write posts about the reality and dangers of global warming / climate change. It is interesting to watch the voting pattern during the next hour or two. Several "thumbs up" votes come in and then they disappear rapidly. I know this is because the majority of Hot Copperites think climate change is bullshit and are strongly opposed to the idea.

Fair enough - thats democracy. But readers who only read the high scoring posts may miss out on an interesting - albeit contraversial - post.

It would be better if both the"thumbs up" and "thumbs down" appeared.
