Because Australia is my home. My physical home. I have no doubt that there are many Australians who may feel from an aestetic perpective another country might be prettier but for whatever reason, they still live in Australia.
If I felt that Sydney is better than Melb, must I live in Sydney?
Australia has been good to me and I feel that as a citizen I am returning that goodness in one form or another. Why can't I have a yearning to call something my own, yet be located somewhere else?

Obviously not. The sibling who looks after the property would be entitled to be paid for the services he performs on behalf of the absent sibling, but the property itself? It belongs equally to both irrespective where they reside.
Your question is a loaded one although I'm not sure you meant it to be loaded.
In a nutshell, Israel is every Jew's spiritual home. Some appreciate it and understand. Others have lost sight of their spiritual entitlement. Some deny it even. But intrinsically it is part and parcel of the soul of the Jew. He is born with it and he will die with it.
That's if one believes in a soul, or a religion or a god. To anyone else this is sheer hocus pocus and to them I say, when Australia gives back it's land to the Aborigines and the US gives back the land to the Indians and the South Americans give the lands back to the Incas and all the others give back whatever is claimed was taken by force, maybe then they might have a moral right to preach what Israel should or should not be doing.
To them I say posssession is nine tenths of the law. The Arabs want Israel.
They believe in the god that Jews discovered or invented or whatever. They believe in our Old Testament.
They don't like the Umpires (god) decision.
