    cgt2009,

There had been some amateurish posts from coalition supporters about Gillard resigning.

Rudd is very likely to return as Labor leader in my view. We will find that out very soon, within weeks. After the change in leadership, Labor MPs will rally behind him and start work in earnest to win the next election.

Some people have been saying that Gillard has been doing well, in the circumstance of a minority government, to have passed some major legislation. That is true, but it will come to nothing if she has not gained traction in the wider community who after all will be the one deciding the fate of the Labor government in the next election.

Cast your mind back to the last year of the Keating government. Keating dominated the parliamentary sessions. he was the preferred prime minister over John Howard by a wide margin. But he lost the election to Howard in that year.

I have been saying for weeks now that Rudd will challenge sooner rather than later.
