The reason is very simply an excess of sellers over buyers.
The sellers are not sophisticated nor understand the market( or maybe they do so better than me).
10 individuals putting on sell orders of a few million are not going to sell them at that price as someone will always come in under them and so keeping the price down in the process.
If they were to withdraw their orders and wait they could dribble them out at a better price by selling "at market".
This is what the "Big Traders"do. They have a large holding and keep trading a percentage of them and increase their holding.
One of the "Top Twenty" told me they average $150k every 18 months and I know it was true.
The problem is everyone has their own agenda. Some will take their profits at 5 6 7 8 9 etc or wait for 20 25 30 or dividends ( in maybe 5 years) or a takeover?. Whatever the selling price there has to be a buyer.
Nothing material or perceived material in this world has any value except one and that is set by the buyer not the seller. While the seller holds it there is no value until it is actually sold.
For all of the above and for "ye of little faith":-
As the Bible says in James 5:8
"Be patient and stand firm, because the profit's coming is near."
