It may not be all bad.
Here's an XJO chart I posted when we crashed in August last year showing a similar volume spike in August 2009. As you can see that level acted as support until last years crash and it's been resistance ever since. You would expect to see a good pop if we can clear it.
Close up of the action shows similar to where copper is at the moment. If copper can backtest and hold it's support it may be the mother of all buy signals for copper / commodities and spec miners.

That turn date for copper on the 17th feb might turn out to be something.
