    1 + 2) Your correction statement is too generalised. Fuel usage can be calculated in a number of ways, depending on seat configuration, payload, route/miles or Km flown, weather and air traffic. It is impossible to just make a number of assumptions and say the A380 burns less fuel than the 777. This is not necessarily true. No one flight plan is ever the same, so a truly accurate comparison is never possible. Besides this, the point I was making was not a direct comparison between just the the A380 and the 777. The point is, QAN could save approx $450m from its TOTAL fuel bill if it had of purchased 777's and replaced older aging aircraft. The depreciated value of an A/C has NOTHING to do with the amount of fuel an airline uses.

    3) You should check your figures my friend. QCCA crew are able to be worked up to a "company max" of 240 hrs per roster. Check it. If you do not believe me, perhaps a QCCA crew member can put forward a post to confirm. If you do your research, you will find that the divisor for QCCA crew is 220-240 hrs. Company Max is the figure to use. Either way, we are splitting hairs. 20 hrs difference over two months is not huge. My point remains, $33K is not a huge salary for a full time job.

    Re your last point and my last post, I actually agreed with you that Emirates and the like do use foreign cheap labour for non skilled operations and this does bring down the average cost of workers. So too does the cheaper management structure of Emirates.
