Believe it or not I actually concur with most of the observations you made in that post: Julia Gillard is as unpopular as Tony Abbott, Kevin Rudd has alienated many people in the ALP, if an election were held next week the ALP would be slaughtered regardless who led the Coalition & the leadership struggle between Gillard & Rudd is messy & unedifying [but nevertheless typical of our system].
But as to your rose-coloured views of Tony Abbott, were it not for the public's aversion to him the Coalition would have won Govt. in 2010!
If it makes you feel better to label me a Labor toadie go right ahead, but for the record at the last election in Indi I voted Independent & previously voted for Lou Liebermann [Indi's Lib MP]. I could never bring myself to vote for Mirabella though & cannot believe that Tony Abbott has her on his front bench!
