It will be interesting to see if Shell comes back with a bigger offer to trump PTT's offer, or if any other majors join in the bidding to takeover Cove.
Commentators were not expecting a rival to the Shell bid, but now we have one.
This bidding battle should help to maintain PCL's share price strength, as PCL is possibly the most well placed junior explorer in the region.
The PCL Pink Sheets (PCOGF) in the U.S.A. have hit US 17.5 cents last night, volume is light but the fact is that not many would want to be selling at a time like this, and if we get a Mbawa drill date soon, then the pre-spud value might be higher than previously expected.
