As you pointed out the DMR followed the correct protocol in issuing the mining right so Anglo new this was coming and ignorance is no defence.

If this mine goes ahead it will have the effect of disturbing the supply and demand balance for awhile till things even out and the status quo returns.

I predict when Garatau comes on line expect a drop in the platinum price of between $50 to $100 per ounce. With Anglo producing about 2.5 million ounces that would effect their profitability by $125 million with a $50 drop, better spending a few million on lawyers a year to delay it as long as possible.
