re: ftse - buying opportunity...
This is terrible for all concerned...
I have 5 family members in London right now.
We can't get in contact with three of them...all of whom work in and around the areas affected.
I feel sick with worry, angry at the bastard’s responsible, pissed off with religious groups who give tacit approval...and totally frustrated at our collective inability to stop this sort of thing.
I know it's always the "extremist element" responsible...but geez...I'm just about fed up with certain religious groups that appear happy to turn a blind eye to the "loony factor" in their flocks.
When was the last time you heard of "extremist Buddhists" blowing up busses in Beijing?
Any religion...AND I MEAN ANY RELIGION...which condones violence, of any sort, or for any reason, against those that don't; live like them; think like them; agree with them or; act like them, simply have no place in the modern world in my opinion...and very simply, should not be tolerated!
I see any form of violence or aggression on religious grounds as being inherently evil and in the same category as child molestation, slavery, torture and genocide…these “evils” are all left-overs from a past era, they may have been an effective form of “social control” in the dark ages, but today they no longer apply.
We do not need this…THEY DO NOT NEED THIS!
Today we have the G8 summit meeting, debating the future of millions of the world's poor and now we have this bloody distraction...the budget for debt relief just got halved!!!
It's about time that religious leaders from all disciplines finally took a stand and called for a stop to this sort of thing...and I don't mean some "MEDIA STAGE PLAY" designed to look good for the Americans...what we need is for these people to give real signs to their followers that this sort of thing must end!
Those not prepared to take such a stand...well...at least we'll know who to watch out for.
Anyway, I’m sure the world will carry on tomorrow, perhaps a little shocked, but it will carry on…by the end of next week, it will almost be back to normal…and by the end of the month, it will be all but forgotten.
In fact, I notice we are already seeing signs of an intra-day recovery on the FTSE.
Unfortunately, the markets don’t care about such things…other than how to make money from it!
Should see DOW down tonight and the XAO also down tomorrow…such is life in the new world.
