"The letter of engament for all my staff states "if you sick on a Friday or Monday and if you are sick for 2 consecative days you are to bring Dr's note."
So you pay them peanuts, and make them go to a Doctor if they are sick on a Friday or a Monday, or for 2 consecutive days (obviously because a few bad eggs have screwed you over in the past with Mondayitis). I'd be pretty incensed if I were getting less than $20 an hour and then had to fork out $60 to hear a Doctor say "take some panadol, drink plenty of water and get lots of rest", all for the sake of getting a piece of paper for the boss. The Doctors hate it as well, as they see it as a waste of their time, when they could be helping someone whose genuinely sick. I know at our medical centre, you may actually have to wait a couple of days to see a GP!
And you're amazed when someone takes a sicky, or wants some sort of payout for unused sick leave????
