Logic says the SP should stay above 2.9 at least till the placement is finalised and 2.9 seemed a pretty low risk level to re enter today. Once the new shares are issued it is up to the company to build value for a higher SP.
There will still be some willing to sell at any price above 2.9 because they are counting on getting them back in the placement and making a profit.
