For what it's worth, if my understanding is correct, these aren't your traditional oil and gas plays.
It looks like each prospect is a business case in itself. Ok, if the flow and quality are very good, it gives an indication that there's a better probability of achieving a good return from each well, but I don't think it would have screamed to the market that someone needs to take them over quickly before the market realises they are undervalued.
Coming from NXS, a very painful experience, how many rumours went around about takeovers given their great CRUX asset, but nothing eventuated and Shell could just stand back and wait for NXS to come crying for help.
To me the current acreage provides a great platform to build something bigger and that is what will hopefully make this a takeover target someway down the track. Let the team at AKK do the hard work and then someone pick it up when it has a great reserves position and about to commence a very strong cashflow.
