This company might have a bleak future in the short to medium term. It faces many adverse headwinds in both its macro and specific industry operating environments.
The size of the business is also contracting.
Serious questions could be asked about management.
These begin with the misjudged purchase of the glass business in 2008 for a grossly inflated price and the huge earnings decline from this operation that occurred afterwards under the new control.
One only has to compare the stated management outlooks about construction markets in the last few annual reports with actual subsequent events to make one’s own evaluation.
As always, it will all depend on the bottom line profit reported from ordinary operations, especially glass.
Full year results and the final dividend should be announced on the 16 May.
