Hey Rainmaker, the share price comparison with 2003 isn't really reflective of where things should be necessarily as in 2003 SHV was running at a very high PE ratio due to the growth trajectory.

SHV had expanded it's managed orchards substantially, although most were yet to start commercial production of almonds, and the growth in managed orchards was increasing massively with no sign of abating. Spare funds were being used to gobble up successive food processing businesses as bolt on acquisitions.

Unfortunately it was based on a flawed business model and was doomed to failure, in appearance it seemed it was largely an ATO supported ponzi scheme (worded carefully to avoid any chance of being sued).
