Our media includes elements that are self-serving, self-indulgent & self-promotional. Their prime function is not to provide a public service, let alone provide uncensored or accurate information.

Elements of our media are more interested in determining what we get to read & watch, pushing viewpoints rather than reporting about what has happened. Often very light on facts but full of poorly researched, speculative opinion.

Elements of our media refuse to indicate the source of information they use to create story lines. Yet they promote their reports as being factual.

Anyone that watches commercial television can attest to issues such as exploitive & even violent advertising. Often advertsing saturates the airwaves.

Media self-regulation is a pitiful joke & Australians deserve one hell of a lot better.

Since our media has comprehensively demonstrated an inability & unwillingness to properly regulate itself Govt. must act to protect the rights & privacy of its citizens & the accuracy of information presented as fact.
