sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it will take more than a few days to dry out, more like a few weeks of constant sunshine and warmer weather - and they may get more rain in between.
If big water comes down the channel country from SW QLD we have a bigger problem again - worry when & if that happens!
For now, the next problem is the delay will stuff all of the contractor schedules - ferck!
