Boofy - "My" (family's) school principal, having to take a template or nothing, no persona. ideas or input allowed) went for the template - which they're basically happy with - as feel it's better/newer than the older buildings they had - although these had character and history - and still nothing wrong with them. But less maintenance now.
However - when there were interminable delays - and this Principal complained, often, he/she was told -(paraphrasing) by their project manager - "you'd best shut up - or if you keep complaining then "they'll" get the irrit with you, and subsequently might cut right back on the scope of what you eventually get. And so they shut up - and waited. Yes, that's bullying too. Two and a half tough years of teaching in hugely crammed conditions, waiting.
Mainly. it's just a central assembly common room, with spokes.And multi classes in each of the big spoked rooms. A sort of "communal" school atmosphere. Not ideal. All bully boy "take what you get" (not what you want) stuff.
Oh - NO air conditioning - so they all sweltered shockingly through this hot, humid Melbourne summer. Seems odd - money no object - but oh no! you can't have air con! Madness.
Don't know the final cost - not told to me. Perhaps school committee don't even know. But bet it was probably much huger than a privately sourced company could have done it for.
