Resources and reserves are important, but with producers, not so much explorers, I think the market wants good production figures and they want it now.

If you look at MML they have a couple of quarters of reduced production performance the SP gets clobbered. Same with RMS and Wattle Dam even though they are bringing on Mt.Magnet very soon.

When you look at immediate production figures there are lots of other goldies more attractively priced in comparison to their enterprise value. This has to be arbitrarily weighed up against in ground resource/reserves and future production possibilities, sovereign risk, mine life etc
